Think Safety!
Rules and regulations have been established for the safety of all HCRA members and their guests. But rules alone, no matter how long the list, are never a substitute for alert and engaged parenting. Child drowning can happen in a matter of seconds -- in the time it takes to answer a phone call.
Four Critical Rules for Protecting Our Youngest Members:
- Parents and Adults: Please watch your children at all times and report any instance where proper adult supervision appears to be lacking.
- While in or near the pool, children unable to swim must be accompanied by an adult at all times. No exceptions!
- Children and beginner swimmers must pass a swimming skills test before entering the deep end of the pool. The skills test will be administered by the pool attendant or pool manager as time permits.
- Know what to do in case of an emergency. If a swimmer is missing always look in the pool first. Familiarize yourself with the location of lifesaving equipment, first aid supplies and the pool’s emergency phone.
